Nigerians have taken to social media to blast Italian league organisers after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named the 2022-23 Serie A Player of the season ahead of Victor Osimhen, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Georgian star was announced as the player of the year ahead of Victor Osimhen on Serie A’s official Twitter page on Friday.

Kvaratskhelia scored 12 goals and recorded 10 assists in the league to lead Napoli to their first title in 33 years.
While Victor Osimhen scored 25 goals and recorded four assists, He was named the striker of the year.
Ivan Provedel won the goalkeeper of the year award, while Inter Milan’s Nicollo Barrela was named the midfielder of the year.
Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae was named the defender of the season.
Expectedly, Nigerians have expressed their disappointment on Twitter after the Super Eagles star was denied the award.
Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia will be in action for Napoli when they take on Sampdoria on Sunday.
Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi for a reported fee of €10 million ($10.7m) in the summer of 2022.
