Nigeria international Christy Ucheibe is excited after committing extending her contract with Portuguese top team SL Benfica, Sportivationng.com reports.
Ucheibe has put pen to papers on a new deal that will keep her at Benfica until the summer of 2026, the club made the confirmation on Friday.
The 22 years old has had a steady development in the Portuguese women’s top flight league since teaming with the Eagles, which made Benfica have faith in her.
Speaking after signing the new deal, the Super Falcons player said the ‘renewal means a lot’ to her while expressing her gratitude to Benfica.
“This renewal means a lot to me and my family, l am very happy to renew the contract for another three years,” she tells Benifca TV.
“I am grateful for this opportunity, which not everyone has. I will do my best to help the team win more trophies.”
Since arriving in Portugal in 2020, the Nigerian starlet has won three domestic league titles, one League Cup and a Super Cup.
Furthermore, she and her teammates will look to test their strength in the Women’s Champions League next season.
