Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has joined AC Milan from Villarreal, Sportivationng.com reports.
Chukwueze signed a five-year deal with the Italian giants in a deal worth a reported €28m plus add-ons.
He enjoyed a productive season with Villarreal in the Spanish Laliga last season and has now ended his association with the Yellow Submarines.
AC Milan confirmed his signing on their website on Thursday afternoon.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze from Villarreal CF. The Nigerian forward has signed for the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028,” Milan stated.
“Born in Umuahia (Nigeria) on 22 May 1999, Samuel came through the Diamond Football Academy Youth Sector before moving to Villarreal in 2017.
“With the Spanish club’s B team, he played 20 games and scored four goals before making his debut with the senior team in September 2018, going on to feature 207 times, scoring 37 goals, and winning 1 Europa League.
“He has been capped 28 times for Nigeria and scored four goals.
“Samuel Chukwueze has chosen the number 21 jersey.”
The 24-year-old scored 13 goals and recorded 11 assists in all competitions for Villarreal in the 2022-23 season.
Chukwueze becomes AC Milan’s latest signing after the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic Noah Okafor joined earlier in the summer.
He made his Super Eagles debut in 2018 against Uganda, scoring his first goal for the team against South Africa in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Umuahia-born star has made 28 appearances for the Super Eagles, scoring four goals.
