Manchester City have completed the signing of defender Josko Gvardiol for £78million on a five-year deal from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, Sportivationng.com reports.
Gvardiol becomes City’s second signing of the summer, joining fellow Countryman Mateo Kovacic at the Etihad Stadium.
The 21-year-old will wear the number 24 shirt at the City.
Joško Gvardiol is a Croatian professional footballer, Although primarily a centre-back, he can also be deployed as a left-back.
He is known for his physicality, positioning and has been touted as a top prospect by his peers.
Gvardiol, who was part of the Croatian team that secured a bronze medal at the 2022 World Cup last December, won two German Cups during his time in Germany and will bolster the Cityzens’ already stacked roster of central defenders.
The defender will join John Stones, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte as Guardiola’s centre-back options for the upcoming season.
