Famesports Football Club Congratulates Kaplan On Ankaragücu Technical Director Appointment

The management of Famesport Football Club have sent a congratulatory message to former Turkish international, Mustafa Kaplan following his appointment as the Technical Director of Ankaragücü.

The highly-rated coach replaced Mesut Bakkal on Sunday ahead of the last three games of the season.

The CEO of Famesport Football Club, Adedeji Abiodun described Kaplan’s appointment as a step in the right direction, while backing him to turn the club’s fortunes around.

He said: Congratulations to my friend, Mustafa Kaplan on his appointment as the new technical director of Ankaragücü, his appointment is a step in the direction. Kaplan is a man that breathes football, he is so passionate about the beautiful game, he knows Turkish football like the palm of his hands. I’m convinced that he will turn the team’s fortunes around for good.

“On behalf of the Famesports players, coaching crew, and the entire staff of the club I am wishing Kaplan all the best in his new role with Ankaragücü.”

This is Kaplan’s fifth stint with the club following his spell in 2012-2013, 2014-2015, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.

Kaplan was a forward during his playing days, and he represented the likes of Alanyaspor, Edremit Belediyespor, Bayburtspor, Kırşehirspor, Eskişehir Demirspor, Ankara Demirspor, Yozgatspor, Altındağ Belediyespor, Çubukspor, ASKI Spor, Çubukspor, Tarımspor, and Ankara Demirspor during his playing career in the Turkish league.

As a coach, he has managed the likes of Ankaragücü, Gençlerbirliği, Hacettepe,
Adanaspor, and Giresunspor. His last coaching job was at Adanaspor in the 2023-2024 season.

Famesports Football Club is based in Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, and is currently rated as one of the fastest growing academies in Nigeria.
