Flying Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick is attracting the attention of a hosts of European top clubs following his stellar performances for the team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Sportivationng.com reports.
Fredrick started out brilliantly with the young Nigerian side at the recently held African U20 Nations Cup where the country finished third.
His consistency and progression has since attracted interest from big clubs with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Villarreal are keeping an eye on him.
Also in the mix for the talented center-back are RB Leipzig, Anderlecht and Midtjylland.
Currently turning out for the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina, the 18-year-old has been one of the top players, who helped the team qualify for the quarterfinals after defeating the hosts, Argentina.
He will be aiming to add to his impressive stats and continue his fine form when Nigeria take on South Korea for a spot in the semifinals of the U20 tournament on Sunday.
He is now eligible to sign a professional contract with any club having turned 18 years five days ago.
