Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund to end their 2023-24 US pre-season your unbeaten, Sportivationng.com reports.
The West London side faced Bundesliga side, Borrusia Dortmund in the early hours of Thursday.
Both teams fielded a very strong side in preparation for the new season.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked about his starting XI vs Borussia Dortmund, he said;
“This was about giving 90 minutes to the team in my head that I plan to play because the season is only 10 days away.”
Dortmund scored first through Wolf in the 80th minute before Chelsea equalised through Academy player Burstow in the 88th minute to end the match in a 1-1 draw.
The Blues returned to the United States as part of their preparations for the 2023-24 season. After enduring a difficult campaign in 2022-23, Chelsea were eager to lay a strong foundation ahead of the new season under New Coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Chelsea started their 2023 preseason tour with a 5-0 victory over League Two side Wrexham in a game where new signings Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson made their debuts.
The West London side were outstanding in Philadelphia on July 22, as they won 4-3 in a goal filled encounter against Brighton at the Lincoln Financial Field in their first game of Premier League Summer Series.
Chelsea faced Newcastle United next and both teams played out a 1-1 draw on July 26, then the blues followed it up with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fulham at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland to lift the first-ever Premier League Summer Series.
Chelsea will fly back to England today to continue their pre-season work at Cobham in preparation for their first match against Liverpool in the English Premier League.
