The trio of Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Armando Broja did not travel with the Chelsea team to America for their summer pre-season tour, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Blues announced on their website that 29 players will be travelling to the United State of America for Mauricio Pochettino’s first pre-season tour as a Chelsea manager.
According to the information on the club’s website, Reece James is unwell and he was not part of the travelling party, the English star will join up with the squad later when he is fully recovered.
Wesley Fofana missed out of the trip due to a knee injury which is currently being assessed, while Armando Broja continues his recovery from a long-term injury.
Benoit Badiashile was also left out in a bid to continue his recovery from an hamstring injury he sustained towards the end of last season.
New signings, Christopher Nkunku, Andrey Santos, Malo Gusto, Nicolas Jackson and Angelo Gabriel all made the trip.
Levi Colwill, Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk all returned in time from their European U-21 commitments to travel with the team.
Chelsea will play their first match of the tour against Wrexham on Wednesday.
