The Falconets of Nigeria earned a well-deserved 3-0 win over Benin Republic to qualify for the final of the WAFU B U20 Women Championship in Kumasi on Wednesday to set up a clash with hosts Ghana, Sportivationng.com.
The Nigerian team remained undefeated in the competition as they blow their Beninese counterparts away in superb manner.
Amina Bello fired Falconets into the lead after twenty three minutes from the run of play.
Esther Onyenezide doubled her side’s lead from the penalty spot after Flourish Sebastian was fouled in the box of Benin.
The Beninese threw everything into the game in search of a goal, but were unable to breakdown the defense of the Falconets.
The game was over for Benin after the restart of the tie when Onyenezide scored her second goal to send the Nigerian team into frenzy.
As a result of it, Nigeria will now face Ghana’s Black Princesses in the final on Saturday, June 3rd in what promises to be blockbuster encounter.
Hosts Ghana won the first semi final match, defeating Burkina Faso’s Dames 3-1 to reach the final on Saturday.
Tournament top scorer Opeyemi Ajakaye did not add to her tally on Wednesday night, but Saturday’s final is a great opportunity for her to raise her total haul for the championship.
