Victor Osimhen further underlined his importance to the Super Eagles with a sensational hat-trick against Sao Tome and Principe, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Africa Nations Cup qualifiers clash took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and the Super Eagles treated the spectators to a goal fest.
The Napoli hitman gave the hosts the lead with a thumping header from Ademola Lookman’s corner in the 13th minute.
Lookman got on the act himself with the second goal with a low effort in the 27th minute.
Taiwo Awoniyi added the third goal with a brilliant strike after the restart.
Osimhen scored the second from the spot after he was fouled by the Sao Tome and Principe goalkeeper, he made no mistake from the spot to make it 4-0.
He completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute finishing off a through pass from Samuel Chukwueze.
Victor Boniface, who came off the bench to make his Super Eagles debut assisted Samuel Chukwueze for the sixth goal to end the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in style.
The trio of Bruno Onyemaechi, Victor Boniface and Raphael Onyedika all made their Super Eagles debut in the encounter.
The Super Eagles scored a total of 22 goals and conceded just four goals, finishing with 15 points.
Victor Osimhen was named the Most Valuable Player following his stunning goalscoring performance I’m the encounter.
Ademola Lookman went home with the man of the match award.
