Victor Osimhen scored a brace to help the Super Eagles to a 3-2 win over Sierra Leone in a 2023 Africa Nations Cup qualifying match on Sunday, Sportivationng.com reports.
The result was enough to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2023 Africa Nations Cup in Ivory Coast.
The red-hot striker continued his rich vein of form with a lobbed finish in the 19th minute to give the Super Eagles the lead.
Osimhen added the second goal in the 32nd minute to increase Nigeria’s advantage.
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro handed Adebayo Adeleye the nod to start in goal for his second appearance for the team.
Sierra Leone reduced the deficit four minutes before the break to make it 2-1.
Kargbo equalised for the hosts in the 84th minute to ensure the share of the spoils.
Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho scored the winner in the 95th minute to hand the Jose Peseiro-led team the maximum points.
