Victor Osimhen has become a strong contender for the Serie A Best Striker award after helping Napoli to their first league title in 33 years, Sportivationng.com reports.
Osimhen played an incredible role in leading Napoli to the league title, scoring 25 times and adding four assists to his name.
The Super Eagles star will contest the award with Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Rafael Leao of AC Milan, following the trio brilliant outings this campaign.
Martinez has 21 league goals this term. He has helped Inter win the Coppa Italia and he will be in action in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
For Leao, he netted 13 times and has 15 goals contribution as Milan secured a fourth place finish in the Serie A.
Despite Martinez and Leao’s nominations, Osimhen is the overwhelming favorite to win the accolade having had exceptional performances this term.
Osimhen will be in action for Napoli against Sampdoria in their last game of the season at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Sunday.
He will also be hoping to add to his 25 goals tally in the race to finish as the top scorer in the Serie A this season.
