Victor Osimhen has made the headlines after becoming the most valuable player in the history of Serie A, according to German-based website Transfermarkt, Sportivationng.com reports.
Osimhen saw his market value rise to €120m, thereby breaking Paulo Dybala‘s record of €110m valuation set in 2018 while playing for Juventus, since Transfermarkt has introduced market values in 2004.
Osimhen’s valuation is a testament of an amazing season he had with Napoli where he led the club to their first league title in 33 years, finishing as the team’s top scorer.
He became the first African to win the Serie A golden boot after he scored 26 goals in 32 games and he went on to add five more in the Champions League as Napoli bowed out in the quarterfinals.

His performances has seen drawn the attention of top European sides like PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid who have shown interest in the 24-year-old Nigerian marksman.
For now, Osimhen is ranked among the top five most valuable players on earth, rubbing shoulders with Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.

In the meantime, Osimhen will play under a new coach at the club next season following the appointment of Rudi Garcia by Napoli.
Garcia takes over from Luciano Spalletti with immediate effect after the former declared his desire to take a break from coaching.
The new coach’s task is to build on Napoli’s success by defending their league crown won under Spalletti and shooting a shot at the Champions League title.
