Lionel Messi has apologised to his PSG teammates for his trip to Saudi Arabia on Monday, Sportivationng.com reports.
He missed the club’s training to make the trip to Saudi Arabia for sponsorship commitments.
Messi was subsequently suspended for two weeks for the unauthorised trip.
The former Barcelona captain has now apologised to his teammates and opened up on what transpired.
“I want to apologize, of course, to my teammates, to the club. I honestly thought we had a day off after the game as we have done throughout the weeks before… sorry for what I did and I’m waiting for whatever the club decides.”
Messi released a video on Instagram to tender his apologies to his teammates.
