Lionel Messi has been suspended for two weeks by PSG following his trip to Saudi Arabia, Sportivationng.com reports.
Messi made the trip to Saudi Arabia on Monday to fulfil his ambassadorial role without the permission of the club.
He played the whole duration of PSG’s 3-1 home loss to Lorient on Sunday.
The former Barcelona captain will not train or play for the club during the duration of the suspension.
According to reports, Messi sought permission from the club to make the journey to carry out commercial work but he was refused.
Messi is a tourist ambassador for Saudi Arabia and he has also been linked with a move to the country following his uncertain future in France.
He is set to miss the games against Troyes and Ajaccio.
The 35-year-old has scored 20 goals and recorded 19 assists in all competitions for PSG this season.
