Legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has been named the greatest African goalkeeper of all time, sportivationng.com reports.
International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) bestowed the honour on the former Super Eagles captain.
The IFFHS announced the list of the greatest goalkeepers from each federation with Enyeama chosen from CAF.
The ranking was decided from 1987-2022.
Italy’s legendary goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon was named the greatest goalkeeper from Europe.
Keylor Navas was named the greatest goalkeeper from CONCACAF, while Jose Luis Chilavert was picked from South America, Mohamed Abdullaziz Al-Deayea of Saudi Arabia got the nod for Asia.
Enyeama was a key player for the Super Eagles, representing the team at three FIFA World Cup competitions in 2002, 2010 and 2014.
He played a pivotal role in the teams Nations Cup glory in 2013.
Enyeama retired from international duty in 2015 after making 100 appearances for Nigeria.
