Aliko Dangote is reportedly closing in on buying French Ligue 2 club, Valenciennes, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Africa’s richest man is set to acquire 60% ownership of club according to French news outlet, Entreprendre.
Valenciennes currently occupy the 15th position in the French Ligue 2, playing their home games at the Stade du Hainault.
They have won the Ligue 2 title twice and played in the French Cup final once.
The Athenians were relegated to the Ligue 2 in 2014 ans have failed to return to the Ligue 1 since then.
Dangote has been linked with buying Premier League club, Arsenal in the past.
Valenciennes will take on Bordeaux in the French Ligue 2 on Saturday.
