Valentin Castellanos scored four goals to help Girona to a 4-2 win over Real Madrid in a 2022-23 La Liga encounter on Tuesday night, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Argentine forward headed in the opener in the 12th minute before quickly firing in the second in the 24th minute to make it 2-0.
Vinicius Junior reduced the deficit for Real Madrid in the 34th minute with a header from Asensio’s cross.
Castellanos added the third goal from a cross by Yan Couto before heading in another for his fourth goal of the night.
The 24-year-old is the first player to score four goals against Real Madrid in more than 75 years after Esteban Echaverria netted five for Oviedo against Real Madrid in 1947.

He is on loan from New York City, and has scored 11 goals in the La Liga this season.
Castellanos won the MLS Golden Boot with 19 goals from 32 games in 2019.
