Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for Everton from the spot in the 15th minute.

Seven minutes later, Caglar Soyuncu brought Leicester City back into the game.

Vardy gave Leicester City the lead in the 33rd minute after to give them a 2-1 lead going into the break.

The hosts were awarded a penalty which was missed by James Maddison just before halftime.

Iwobi restored parity for the visitors in the 54th minute to ensure a share of the spoils as both sides battle for Premier League survival.

It was Iwobi’s first goal since October and his second Premier League goal of the season.

The result leaves Everton in 19th with 29 points, while Leicester City occupy the 16th position on 30 points.

Another Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi was subbed off for Patson Daka in the 61st minute.

Leicester boss Dean Smith admitted that his team didn’t do enough to secure a win.

“We were second best for long periods. It became a basketball game. We wanted a game where we could have control.

“It looked a soft penalty but I could understand why it was given. Vardy looked like his old self, a threat in behind. I’m really pleased for him – back scoring goals.

“We had to find a way into the game for Maddison. When we moved him inside the pitch we started to play like we wanted to.”

On why James Maddison took the penalty: “Simple, he’s on penalties. Kel [Iheanacho] was on pens at Man City and took one against Wolves. The keeper has been brave to stand up. I think it was a fair result.”

Everton boss Sean Dyche praised his team’s performance, but rued the inability to grab the maximum points.

says: “We held our nerve, kept trying to create things and overall it’s a good performance, although we didn’t get the three points we were after.

“Most of the first half we were excellent. Their goalkeeper has made a couple of brilliant saves.

Dom [Calvert-Lewin] missed one but looked sharper and quicker and will be a real weapon for us. His true fitness is coming back, he looks strong and alert.

“I didn’t come here for a walk in the park, I knew it would be a challenge and we’re at a point a game. The only crime tonight was two really soft goals but the mentality is what we want from the team.”
