Nigerian table tennis sensation Aruna Quadri kicked off the 2024 season with a remarkable victory over Brazilian International Hugo Calderano at the World Table Tennis (WTT) tournament in Doha on Wednesday.
Aruna secured his first win against his friend Calderano in a thrilling 3-2 comeback in the ongoing WTT finals.
As the only African player among the top 16 competitors in this global tournament, Aruna faced Calderano on Wednesday afternoon, initially trailing with 11-2, 11-7 in the first two sets.
However, he staged a strong comeback, clinching victory with scores of 11-9, 12-10, 12-10, securing his spot in the quarter-finals.
