Real Madrid midfielder, Frédérico Valverde has been named Champions League player of the week, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Uruguayan midfielder impressed in the 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the second leg.
He was voted the man of the match in the encounter after providing the assist for Rodrygo’s second goal.
Valverde fought off competition from Rafael Leao, Kevin De Bruyne and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan to win the award.
Uefa announced Valverde as the winner on their Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

Valverde has scored 12 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid this season.
