Jadon Sancho is closing in on a return to Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The winger, who has not been in United’s first team over a clash with the manager Erik ten Hag. who said it was up to him to facilitate his return to the first-team squad seems to be having a tough time at Old Trafford.
According to Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Sancho is set to return to Germany.
Sancho, who has been described as an outcast at the club might return to Borussia Dortmund on loan this month.
His relationship with the manager appears to have gone sour, having refused to apologise to him for a social media post after the manager said his omission from September’s defeat at Arsenal was related to his performance in training.
The 23-year-old England winger rejected Ten Hag’s comment and said he was being made a scapegoat.
This led to him being removed from the first team squad and there is no end in sight to his exile.
Dortmund sold Sancho to United for £73m in July 2021 and they are willing to offer him a route back in the January transfer window. The Bundesliga club are optimistic of reaching an agreement for the remainder of the season.
The hindrance to this deal could be his wage as any deal might require United to pay a significant portion of it, given the huge increase he received when he signed for the Red Devils.
