Mikel Arteta has confirmed that William Saliba has been ruled out of the Premier League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday, Sportivationng.com reports.
Saliba has missed Arsenal’s last five matches since getting injured against Sporting Lisbon in March.
He is now expected to miss the Gunners’ next two matches against Manchester City and Chelsea.
“There has not been real improvement on him [Saliba],” Arteta said.
“It is another week that has gone by and he has not been able to train with the team.
“At the moment we don’t have him. The [Chelsea] game will come too close.
Arteta also confirmed that Granit Xhaka is doubtful for the mammoth clash against Man City.
Xhaka missed the 3-3 draw against Southampton on Friday due to illness
“Granit has been out, hopefully he will be able to train today. He is still a doubt.”
The Gunners have failed to win any of their last three Premier League matches to put question marks on their title credentials.
They are currently five points clear of Manchester City, who have two games at hand and a win for the hosts at the Etihad will set them well on course for another Premier League glory.
