Bayelsa Queens began their NWFL title defense with a 1-0 win over FC Robo Queens at the 2022-23 NWFL Premiership Super Six on Wednesday, Sportivationng.com reports.
Bayelsa earned a 1-0 victory which condemned Robo Queens to their second loss at the championship following their opening day defeat to Delta Queens.
Flourish Sebastian broke through on the run of play to scoring the sole goal in the second half as Bayelsa secured the victory.
Elsewhere, Confluence Queens bounced back from the loss they suffered in their first match to see Edo Queens off.
Edo Queens were a revelation during the regular season, but failed to make it count as they fell 1-0 to their opponents from Lokoja.
NWFL Premiership Super Six Table
Chukwuamaka Osigwe netted the match winner on the 56th minute to hand Confluence Queens the maximum points at the end of the contest.
