Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has opened up on how former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba Inspires his physical approach to football matches, Sportivationng.com reports.
The reigning African footballer of the year opined that Drogba played a major role in his approach to football matches, he said in an interview with Il Matino.
Osimhen said: “The whole world knows that I am inspired by Didier Drogba,” he said, according to Il Matino.
“When I was a child, they introduced me to his [Drogba] style of football, the passionate fans, and then the whole community pushed me to follow him.
“And so, I started to take an interest in him, to watch many clips, and learn from his movements and integrate them into my way of playing.”
Osimhen has been linked with a summer move to Drogba’s former club, Chelsea.
He has scored 15 goals and recorded four assists in all competitions for Napoli this season.
Osimhen and his Napoli teammates will be back in Serie A action against Roma on Sunday at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
