The organisers of the prestigious Grace Youth Football Association have confirmed that the Rep Ur Club tournament will kick off on Sunday, July 5th, Sportivationng.com reports.
The tournament will be played at the Thomas Field in Irawo, Ikorodu Lagos with a series of mind-blowing games lined up.
According to a member of the organising committee, Bidemi Apena, the tournament is expected to foster team work, discipline and sportsmanship.
He said: The objective of the tournament is centered towards promoting teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
“We all the importance of football to the youths, we have put the tournament together to also ensure that we have fun through football and to also ensure unity amongst the players.
“We are calling on lovers of good football to come out en masse to enjoy the best of grassroots football.
“We have put security measures in place and also professional officials will be in charge of the officiating.”
A total of eight teams are expected to battle it out for trophy in the tournament.
The winner is expected to go home with a sum of 100,000 naira, the runner-up will pocket 50,000 naira while the third-place team will be rewarded with 30,000 naira.
The matches will kick off at 4pm on Sunday, July 5th at Thomas Field, Irawo Bus Stop, Ikorodu Road.
Bidemi also showered encomiums on the companies that supported the tournament.
He concluded: “On behalf of the organising committee, I want to sincerely appreciate all the companies that supported the tournament in one way or the other. We are grateful for the support.”
