With just 12 days to the Yenagoa City International 10KM Race, Bayelsa State and Nilayo Sports Management Ltd is set to host the World Press Conference for the race on April 3, 2026.

The press conference will bring together key stakeholders in athletics, including delegates from World Athletics, government officials, race organizers, and members of the media. The event aims to formally present the race to the global sporting community, highlight its significance, and reaffirm Bayelsa State’s readiness to host a world-class competition.

The Yenagoa City 10KM Race has continued to gain international recognition, attracting elite runners from across Nigeria and around the world.

The presence of World Athletics delegates further underscores the race’s growing status and alignment with global standards.

As part of pre-race activities, kits collection will commence from April 1 through April 3, 2026, at the Peace Park, Mbiama, Yenagoa.

All registered runners are expected to collect their race kits within this period ahead of race day.

Speaking ahead of the event, organizers expressed confidence in Bayelsa’s preparedness, noting that all logistics have been put in place to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for athletes, officials, and spectators.

The Yenagoa City 10KM Race is not only a celebration of athletic excellence but also a platform to promote health, tourism, and community engagement in Bayelsa State.
