Tuchel Reacts To Champions League Ouster
Thomas Tuchel has revealed that there is no difference in class between Bayern Munich and Manchester City after their Champions League elimination, Sportivationng.com reports.
Manchester City earned a 4-1 aggregate win over Bayern Munich to qualify for the Champions League last four.
The first leg ended 3-0, while the return leg in Germany finished 1-1.
“There’s no difference in class. It looks like that from the results, but it’s actually a difference in self-confidence and in form,” Tuchel said.
“For the little we allowed (City) to do, we were brutally punished.”
Tuchel, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann in March hailed Manchester as the best team in Europe.
“We played against the best team in Europe today, the most in-form team in Europe,” the former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea coach said.
“We played completely on the same level, (but) in either game we didn’t have even a tiny bit of luck.”
“To beat the best teams, not just to measure up against them but to beat them, you need to not only use 100 per cent of your chances, but you need luck, you need decisions to go your way and maybe even a deflection,”.
Since Tuchel took over, Bayern Munich have crashed out of the DFB Pokal and the Champions League.
The only hope of silverware is the Bundelisga, where they lead Dortmund with two points with six games to go.
