Tottenham striker Son Son Heung-min says he feels responsible for Antonio Conte’s exit from the club, Sportivationng.com reports.
The Italian manager quit Tottenham by mutual consent on Monday following his criticism of the team and the board after the 3-3 draw against Southampton.
“As a player, I am really sorry. He’s a world-class coach, and we had a great journey together,”.
“I should have played better. I feel responsible for his departure, because I haven’t helped the club all that much.
“I am grateful for what he’s done … He’s such a great coach and has so much experience. I will be rooting for him.”
Son finished as Premier League joint highest goal scorer last season with 23 goals but he has struggled for form this season with just six goals.
Tottenham currently occupy the fourth position on the Premier League log with 49 points from 28 games.
Christian Stellini will take charge of the team until the end of the season.
