The 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games, a flagship sporting event aimed at fostering unity and healthy competition among higher institutions in Osun State, has gained significant momentum following a crucial meeting between representatives of Ace Sports, the event organizers, and the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ede, Engineer Dr. Sania Man-Yahaya.

The meeting, held on Thursday at the Federal Polytechnic Ede campus, was a strategic dialogue aimed at solidifying the institution’s support for the games. The Ace Sports delegation, led by Team Lead Olayiwola Olafiranye, was warmly received by the Rector and key members of the institution’s management team.

 

Dr. Sani Man-Yahaya, a passionate advocate for youth development and sports, expressed his institution’s enthusiasm for hosting the games.

 

“Sports is a unifying force and a critical platform for discovering talents, instilling discipline, and fostering camaraderie among young people,” she stated. “Federal Polytechnic Ede is proud to play a pivotal role in this year’s Osun Intercollegiate Games. We are committed to making this event a resounding success.”

 

Olayiwola Olafiranye, Team Lead of Ace Sports, praised the Federal Polytechnic Ede for its proactive approach and unwavering commitment to the event. “We are thrilled to have Federal Polytechnic Ede as one of our host institutions.

 

Dr. Man-Yahaya’s leadership and dedication to sports development are commendable. His commitment reaffirms our belief that this games will set a new benchmark for intercollegiate sports in Osun State,” he remarked.

 

With the backing of Federal Polytechnic Ede, preparations for the 2024 Osun Intercollegiate Games are now in high gear. The games are expected to feature a wide range of sports, including football, athletics, table tennis, Chess, Scrabble, Badminton and Tug of war.

 

The event will bring together athletes from various tertiary institutions across Osun State, offering them a platform to showcase their skills and compete for glory. Beyond the competitive aspect, the games will serve as a celebration of culture, innovation, and youth empowerment.

 

As the countdown to the Osun Intercollegiate Games 2024 continues, the partnership between Ace Sports and Federal Polytechnic Ede signals a promising future for sports in the state. The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife is another host institution for the games, which will kick off from the 20th of November to the 4th of December.
