Enyimba recorded a 1-0 win over Lobi Stars in a 2023 Nigeria Premier League Super Six encounter in the first game of the day on Monday, Sportivationng.com reports.
Emeka Obioma continued his rich vein of form with the only goal of the encounter with a header in the 16th minute.
Obioma has now scored 16 goals in the Nigeria Premier League this season.
He was also on target against Remo Stars on Saturday.
In the second game of the day, Rivers United snatched a late 2-2 draw against Remo Stars.
Nyima Nwagua opened the scoring for Rivers United in the 16th minute.
Olamilekan Adedayo brought Remo Stars back into the game in the 71st minute.
He scored the second goal for the Sky Blue Stars in the 93rd minute before Abegunrin Lukman snatched a late point for Rivers United in the 96t minute to ensure a share of the spoils.
Rivers United now have four points from two games to occupy the second position.
Daniel Ogunmodede-led Remo Stars are fourth on two points.
In the last game of the day, Bendel Insurance played out a 1-1 draw with Sunshine Stars.
Insurance’s Divine Nwachukwu opened the scoring just seven minutes into the encounter.
Ekerette Udom restored parity for Sunshine Stars just after the hour mark.
Insurance have now extended their unbeaten run to 20 games in the 2022-23 Nigeria Premier League season.
However, they have failed to win their last five games with all ending in draws.
Enyimba are on top of the log with four points, followed by River United on four points.
Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance occupy the third and fourth place respectively with two points apiece.
Up next for Enyimba is a clash with Bendel Insurance on Wednesday, Remo Stars will battle Sunshine Stars, while Lobi Stars take on Rivers United on matchday three.
