The 2022-23 Nigeria Premier League Super Six playoffs got off to a flyer when Remo Stars played out a 2-2 draw with Enyimba in the first game of the day on Saturday, Sportivationng.com reports.
Remo Stars rued their profligacy in front of goal after a dominant first half which ended goalless.
Adiele Eriugo opened the scoring for the People’s Elephants on the hour mark.
Substitute Junior Lokosa restored parity for Remo Stars with 14 minutes remaining.
Emeka Obioma restored Enyimba’s lead from the spot in the 81st minute.
Nduka Junior snatched a point for Remo Stars in the stoppage time to end the match 2-2.
Remo Stars will take on Rivers United in their next match, while Enyimba will battle Lobi Stars on Monday.
Rivers United vs Sunshine StarsÂ
In the second game of the day, Rivers United earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars.
Ebube Duru scored the only goal for Rivers United from the spot on the hour mark after Mark Gibson Theo was fouled in the box.
Rivers United are on top of the log with three points.
Bendel Insurance vs Lobi StarsÂ
Bendel Insurance of Benin played out a goalless draw against Lobi Stars in the last game of the day to extend their unbeaten run in the NPL to 19 games.
The next matchday is on Monday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Stadium.
