The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has been nominated for the Prestigious Special Recognition (Special Recognition Category) Award by the Board of Directors of Sportsville Communication Services Limited, and Members of the Organizing Committee for this year’s edition of the award ceremony, through an official communication sent to the nominee by Organizers of the ceremony.
Slated to hold on Saturday, 28th March, 2026, at the prestigious Lagos Country Club, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, the Organizers said the choice of the Retired Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development was premised on his immense and indelible contributions to sports development in Nasarawa State, and Nigeria at large, particularly football.
Adjudged as one of the longest-serving Premier League Chairmen in Nigeria after presiding over the affairs of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Nasarawa United, for over a decade, including leading the team to two National FA Cup(now renamed President Federation’s Cup)Finals, and two continental appearance in the CAF Confederation’s Cup, during which period he nurtured three highest league goalscorers in Victor Namo, Sunusi Ibrahim, and Silas Nwankwo, Danladi served in various National Sporting Boards, including the Nigerian Judo Federation, and is the current Vice Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
Appraised as one of the most quintessential football administrators from Northern Nigeria, the Nasarawa State-born Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice has etched his name in gold in the football world, having also served as pioneer Vice Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association, pioneer Secretary of Nasarawa United Football Club, Welfare and Team Manager of Nasarawa Amazons Football Club, first Nigeria Premier League Match Commissioner from Nasarawa State, led as Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League Club Owners’ Association for over a decade, strategically repositioning the Association with innovations and tactical finesse for a stronger NPFL.
Additionally, Barrister Danladi was a two-term Member of the Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), a Member of the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee of the NFF, Chairman, NPFL Electoral Committee; featured in ten Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, and appeared in four FIFA World Cup finals.
He will join over seventeen prominent Nigerians and Corporate Organizations to be bestowed with the prestigious awards which have been splitted into seven categories.
Under the chairmanship of legendary Dr. Larry Izamoje, Chairman of Brila Group, the 7th edition of the Prestigious Sportsville Special Recognition Annual Awards seek to appreciate and celebrate personalities and Corporate Organizations who have been at the forefront of sports development and promotion in Nigeria over the years.
The event will also be used to mark the 20th anniversary of Sportsville as an Independent Sports Show on television.
