Imo Strikers Queens FC have formally demanded the payment of ₦15 million allegedly owed to the club by Osun Babes Football Club over a slot exchange agreement between the two clubs.

In a formal petition dated August 7, 2026 and addressed to the management of Osun Babes FC, the Osun State Sports Council and other relevant authorities, Imo Strikers Queens called for the immediate settlement of the outstanding amount.

The petition was also copied to the Executive Governor of Osun State, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, the Chairman of the Osun State Sports Council and the Osun State Football Association.

According to Imo Strikers Queens, the ₦15 million represents the outstanding balance from an agreement between the two clubs for the exchange of a league slot.

The club said its demand is backed by documentary evidence, including a letter allegedly issued by Osun Babes Football Club on December 22, 2025, and signed by the club’s Team Manager, Akinbade O. Tope.

In the letter, Osun Babes reportedly acknowledged its inability to settle the outstanding ₦15 million as earlier promised and committed to paying the balance by the end of the first round of the 2025/2026 Premier League season, before the commencement of the second round.

Imo Strikers Queens said the commitment has not been honoured, with the ₦15 million still outstanding.

The club stressed that the matter is not simply a disputed financial claim, arguing that the existence of the outstanding balance was acknowledged in writing by Osun Babes FC.

The prolonged non-payment, according to the petition, has placed financial pressure on Imo Strikers Queens, particularly given the club’s involvement in grassroots and women’s football development and its financial obligations to players, coaches and officials.

The Imo-based club is therefore demanding the immediate payment of the full ₦15 million, while also calling on the relevant Osun State authorities and football governing bodies to intervene.

It specifically requested that the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) take notice of the matter and, within their regulatory powers, assist in resolving the dispute.

Imo Strikers Queens further requested that any proposed payment arrangement be communicated to the club in writing.

The club has given Osun Babes and the relevant authorities 14 days from the receipt of the petition to settle the outstanding debt or present a mutually acceptable written settlement arrangement.

It warned that failure to resolve the matter within the stipulated period could lead to further action, including seeking appropriate legal and regulatory remedies through the relevant football authorities and competent courts.

Imo Strikers Queens said it had made efforts to resolve the matter amicably but maintained that the continued failure to honour the written acknowledgment and payment commitment could no longer be allowed to continue.

The club has consequently appealed to the Osun State Government and football authorities to intervene urgently and facilitate the settlement of the ₦15 million outstanding obligation.
