The Three Lions star beat the likes of Mohammed Salah, Leandro Trossard, Alexander Isak, Alexis Mac Allister and Tyrone Mings to the Award.

He enjoyed an impressive international break for England with a stunning goal against Ukraine and also assisting Harry Kane for the other goal, which earned him the man of the match in the encounter.

Speaking about his award, Ramsdale said: “I’m very pleased, there’s been a few months where I’ve been nominated and better saves have won to be fair, but the save enabled us to stay in the game and eventually win it.

“We do quite a lot of work with our goalkeeping coaches doing spreads and one v ones.

The ball came across the box and Dom Solanke couldn’t get on it, and the winger took it first time. I knew I needed to get on the end of it, and it managed to hit me on the forearm so it was a nice save.

Ramsdale beat Alphonse Areola, Jose Sa, Illian Meslier, Fraser Forster and David Raya to the award.
