Chelsea’s rave of the moment, Cole Palmer has been named Premier League’s young player of the 2023-24 season following an impressive first full season in the competition, Sportivationng.com reports.

Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer for a reported fee of £40m and he has distinguished himself at Stamford Bridge with series of match-winning performances for Pochettino’s men.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a successful end to the season winning four awards last week and now capping it off with the prestigious Premier League young player of the year award.

He has been involved in 32 goals in the competition this season with 22 goals and ten assists in 33 appearances.

Palmer is the only Chelsea player to have claimed the award since it was first given out in the 2019/20 season, when Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold won it.

He fought off competition from the likes of Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Kobbie Mainoo, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Destiny Udogie.

Palmer is the Premier League’s second-highest goal scorer with 22 goals behind Erling Haaland, while he also ranks joint-second for assists with 10.

He will be hoping to add to his tally when Chelsea take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in their last game of the season on Sunday.
