Mikel Arteta is confident that Kai Havertz will come good after scoring his first goal for Arsenal in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, Sportivationng.com reports.

The former Chelsea star scored from the spot in the 53rd minute to register his first goal in Arsenal’s colours.

Arteta believes the goal can spur Havertz to discover his best form for the club following his underwhelming start to life in North London.

“I’m really happy for the win, but I’m even happier to be part of a team that shows the human qualities that they do today. To show that empathy to a player that has some question marks they warmed me even more today.” said Arteta in the post-match press conference.

“I’m so happy with our supporters the way they made him feel. If there’s a player who deserves that it’s him. Probably it will change everything. If he had any question marks about how we feel about him they are out.”

“(He’s) someone that is going through a period externally – not internally but externally – that he’s getting questioned in certain areas.

For the team to step up and show that empathy and that trust towards him, they won my heart today that group of players.”

Arteta also provided update on Bukayo Saka going off injured.

“I don’t know yet I haven’t had a chance to speak to him, I think this one was a stamp, it wasn’t the same area, I don’t know and Gabi was limping after the game, let’s see how they are”.

Arsenal will be back in action against Lens in the Champions League on Tuesday before taking on Manchester City in the Premier League next weekend.
