Super Eagles-eligible FC Dallas defender Osaze Urhoghide has expressed his desire to be back in action following a two-month injury layoff, Sportivationng.com reports.
Urhoghide returned to the starting lineup in FC Dallas 2-0 win over Portland on Sunday to mark his return from injury.
The 25-year-old has been a key player for FC Dallas in the Major League Soccer, his absence was felt by the team during his absence.
He was delighted to return to action, expressing his desire to help the team.
Urhoghide said: I am excited to be back on the pitch after a long time out due to injury, I missed my teammates, football and the joy of being on the pitch.
“I am happy that the team did well in my absence, I was always rooting for the team because we all have one objective whether I’m playing or not.
Urhoghide described his injury lay-off as a tough time but he is looking forward to a long spell with the team without injuries.
He said: “It was not easy, nobody likes to be injured, the frustration of seeing your teammates play and you can’t join them is very tough, moreso, the recovery and the mental toughness required. It is good to be back.”
Urhoghide has been one of the best defenders in the league with impressive numbers, he currently boasts of 89% percentage in aerial challenges won, 85th percentage in tackles won, 92nd percentage for tackles won in the defensive third, 74th percentage in blocked shots, and 77th percentage in clearances.
Urhoghide will be back in action for FC Dallas at home against Austin in the MLS on Sunday.
