Finidi Invites Two NPFL Players For South Africa, Benin Republic Encounters

Super Eagles coach, Finidi George has invited two Nigeria Professional Football League players for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June, Sportivationng.com reports.

 

Remo Stars right-back, Sadiq Ismael was handed his first-ever call-up while Enyimba goalkeeper, Ojo Olorunleke retained his place in the team.

 

Ismael has been rock solid for the Sky Blues Stars in the NPFL this season and he has been handed a deserved invitation.

 

Former Insurance of Benin defender, Benjamin Tiamiyu, who plays for Ihefu FC in Tanzania was also called up.

 

Europa League final star, Ademola Lookman was also handed an invite alongside the likes of Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka.

Midfielders: Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England); Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge, Belgium); Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi (Royal Antwerp FC, Belgium); Frank Onyeka (Brentford FC, England); Alex Iwobi (Fulham FC, England); Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (Hatayspor, Turkey)

The Super Eagles will take on South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on June 7 before battling with Benin Republic three days later in Ivory Coast.
