A one-day corporate sporting experience, tagged ‘Corporate Olympics,’ is set to make its debut in Lagos.
The event is scheduled to hold on May 1 (Workers Day) at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.
According the organisers, the event will enable various corporate organisations compete for honours in a friendly yet spirited Olympic-style competition.
Speaking at a pre-event conference in Lagos, yesterday, Event/Project Manager, Daniel Maduneme, described the Corporate Olympics as the first of its kind in Nigeria and Africa.
“We decided to put Corporate Olympics together for organisations, and each participating company to compete against one another. They will field teams that compete across a range of engaging team-bonding, sporting, and wellness activities including aerobics, cardio challenges, mini-golf, relay races, and tug of war, with medals and recognition awarded to top-performing teams,” Maduneme said.
Also speaking at the event, Technical Director, Coach Albert Anwanabasi, said the goal of the Corporate Olympics is to encourage employee wellbeing and workplace wellness, strengthen team spirit and inter-departmental collaboration, create a vibrant platform where companies compete, connect, and celebrate together.
According to him, the maiden Corporate Olympics in Lagos will bring together over 5,000 athlete-employees from top-tier companies across industries including finance, energy, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, agriculture, media, education, and real estate.
“This event, which has the backing of Lagos State government is projected to deliver over 100 million combined digital impressions across professional networks and media platforms, positioning it as one of the most visible corporate engagement initiatives in Nigeria.
The Corporate Olympics is a premier engagement that merges fitness, competition, innovation, and leadership into a large-scale experience for professionals across industries,” coach Anwanabasi said.
