Bundelisga: Mainz Stun Bayern Munich To Open Title Race

Bayern Munich suffered a 3-1 loss to Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon to dent their title hopes, Sportivationng.com reports.

Saido Mane opened the scoring for Bayern in the 29th minute with a header at the far post.

Ludovic Ajorque restored parity for the hosts after the hour mark after Bayern failed to clear their lines to allow him nod in the equaliser.

Leandro Barreiro took advantage of Joseph Stanisic's error to give Mainz  a 2-1 lead.

Aaron Martin fired in the third goal to earn Mainz a shock 3-1 win and maintain their 10-game unbeaten run.

The win lifts Mainz to the 10th position on the log in contention for a European slot.

Dortmund will overtake Bayern Munich with a win against Frankfurt later on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel's side have now won once in their last six matches in all competitions.
