Nigeria Premier Football League side, Bendel Insurance FC, have officially announced the signing of four new players from Abakaliki FC as part of their preparations for the upcoming season.
The deals were finalised after both clubs and the players signed all necessary documents.
The quartet Wisdom Udom (midfielder), Henry Onyia (central defender), Ifeanyi Ezema (central defender), and Chukwu Onochie (winger) — were unveiled on Tuesday in Benin City. The club described the arrivals as “fresh faces and raw talents ready to don the gold and green.”
Among the new signings, Ifeanyi Ezema stands out as a commanding central defender, lauded for his physical presence and leadership qualities. Ezema is joining on a three-year deal reportedly worth ₦600,000 monthly.
Henry Onyia adds further solidity to the backline, while Wisdom Udom brings creativity and control to the midfield. Winger Chukwu Onochie is expected to inject pace and flair into the attack.
Bendel Insurance have been busy in the transfer market this summer, having already secured the services of Uche Collins, James Oronsaye, Kayode Oke, and Emmanuel Ugwu.
The club says the latest signings underline its ambition to build a squad capable of challenging for honours in the NPFL.
“These signings show our commitment to building a team capable of competing at the highest level in Nigeria,” the club said in a statement.
The Benin Arsenal will resume full training this week as they continue preparations for the new campaign, aiming to improve on last season’s performance.
