President Bola Tinubu has awarded the Super Eagles team the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) national award for their outstanding performance at the just ended AFCON 2023 tournament in Ivory Coast, Sportivationng.com
They also received one flat and a plot of land each in the FCT.
Nigeria finished second, surrendering the trophy to hosts Ivory Coast, who eventually won.
On Tuesday, the Nigerian team arrived at the State House and got their titles.
All team players and officials were present, including Alex Iwobi, who had experienced cyber-attacks following the loss to Ivory Coast.

The president then applauded the team’s perseverance, sportsmanship, and can-do spirit.
He also congratulated the players for their AFCON performance, which lifted the nation’s spirits.
