Tottenham Sack Stellini After Four Matches

Tottenham have confirmed the sacking of interim manager Christian Stellini following the 6-1 loss to Newcastle United on Sunday,  Sportivationng.com reports.

Stellini was named as the interim manager after the departure of Antonio Conte in March.

He was in charge for four matches including the disastrous loss to Newcastle United to dent Tottenham’s Champions League hopes.

“It was devastating to see,” added Levy.

“We can look at many reasons why it happened and while myself, the board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine.”

“Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time,” said Levy.

Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League table, six points behind Newcastle and Manchester United.

Ryan Mason is expected to take charge until the end of the season.

“Ryan knows the club and the players well,” added Levy.

Tottenham will be back in Premier League action against Manchester United on Thursday.
