School Sports Foundation Osun Governor’s Cup| Ataoja School Of Science To Take On Ife Anglican Grammar School In Final

It was an action-packed Monday at the football pitch of Ataoja School Of Science, Osogbo, as the venue hosted the 1st and 2nd semi-final matches of the prestigious Osun School Sports Foundation Governors Cup.

Sponsored by Peculiar Ultimate Concerns LTD and organized by the School’s Sport Foundation, the semi-finals witnessed thrilling encounters and showcased the talent and dedication of young footballers from across the region.

In the first semi-final showdown, Ataoja School Of Science dominated the field, securing a commanding 8-1 victory over Community Grammar School, Iperindo. The Ataoja team displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, with standout performances from Peter Oyeniran, who netted four (4) goals, and Aminulahi Ismail, among others. However, Community Grammar School, Iperindo, managed to score a consolation goal in the closing stages of the game.

In the second semi-final clash, fans were treated to a nail-biting encounter as Ife Anglican Grammar School, Ife East, edged out Lanre Leke Sports Academy, Ile Ogbo with a narrow 2-1 victory. The match was closely contested, with both teams showcasing their determination and skill until the final whistle.

The presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Permanent Secretary Mr. Dele Olawoyin, Mr. Adesiyan, Director of Sports at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Sanjo asst director Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Tunde Ladepo, MD Peculiar and Alhaji Layi Olafiranye, a prominent philanthropist, added to the excitement of the event.

Other dignitaries present at the semi-finals are; Coach Yekini Yusuf, Coach Yomi Elijah the brain behind the competition, Coach Kehinde Johnson of the Osun state sports council, Mr Sodunke Sogo, a Sports entrepreneur and Mrs Moradeyo Fumilayo, the PRO Osun state Sports council. Their support and encouragement for the young footballers further underscored the importance of grassroots sports development in the region.

With the stage now set for the grand finale, all eyes are on the upcoming showdown between Ife Anglican Grammar School, Ife East, and Ataoja School Of Science, Osogbo. Football enthusiasts and supporters eagerly anticipate the thrilling match, which promises to be a fitting conclusion to an exhilarating tournament.
