Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is nowhere near Lionel Messi’s level, Sportivationng.com reports.
Carragher believes the GOAT debate has ended and Messi is clearly better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi and Ronaldo have battled for trophies and individual honours in the last 15 years and they have both enjoyed successes on and off the pitch.
Carragher said there was never a debate between Messi and Ronaldo.
“It was never a debate. Ronaldo’s nowhere near the level of Messi,” Carragher said.
He added: “Ronaldo is one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, Messi is the greatest player of all time, it’s not even close.
“Ronaldo scored goals, Messi scored goals and was an unbelievable player.” Carragher said in while speaking to Kate Abdo on CBS Sports.
Messi recently won the 2022 FIFA World Cup and his eighth Ballon d’or award.
Ronaldo is currently enjoying his time in the Saudi Arabia Pro League with Al-Nassr, while Messi has also taken the MLS by storm with series of match-winning performances for Inter Miami.
