Premier League: Reactions As Chelsea, Tottenham Stumble

Tottenham surrendered a 3-1 lead to play out a 3-3 draw with Southampton, while Everton snatched a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Sportivationng.com reports.

Ward-Prowse scored a 93rd-minute penalty to grab a point for Southampton.

Everton’s Ellis Simms scored his first Premier League goal to help Everton to a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham coach, Antonio Conte slammed his players for failing to see out the game.

“It is the right moment to speak because this performance for me it’s unacceptable. It’s better now to go into the problem.

‘The problem is that for another time we showed we are not a team. We are 11 players that go onto the pitch and I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other, don’t show heart.”

“Most important if want if you want be strong and competitive is the desire, the fire in your eyes, in your heart and you have to show this in every moment.

Instead, if I have to compare to last season, now we are worse in this aspect.

‘When you are not a team anything can happen. Don’t forget, we lost in FA Cup to Sheffield United who played with young players.”

‘I’m not talking about tactics or technical aspects. To be a team, is the most important.

To understand we play for the badge, to make our fans proud of us. We have to play to show desire. The fire in your eyes to win. If you have this you don’t go out in the FA Cup and today you win.”

Conte’s contract is expected to run out at the end of the season.

Potter was disappointed that Chelsea couldn’t make it four wins out of four.

“Result wise it’s a step back but performance-wise I think it was a step forward. We attacked well, Joao, Kai and CP were positive in the first half. Reece and Chilly used the width well, Enzo was creative in midfield, and Wesley drove the game well.

Individual performances were positive and the team’s intention was good. Again, though, the feeling is frustrated because we’ve dropped points.”

He also provided update on Wesley Fofana’s situation.

“I’m not sure yet. He was fatiguing at the end. He went down and thought it was cramp; let’s hope it is. We haven’t assessed it yet fully”
