Odegaard On Target As Arsenal Brush Aside Clueless Chelsea

Martin Odegaard scored a brace to lead Arsenal to a comfortable 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, Sportivationng.com reports.

The Gunners recovered from the 4-1 drubbing in the hands of Manchester City to blow Chelsea away in the first half.

Martin Odegaard deservedly gave Arsenal the lead with with rasping effort 18th minute following from a Granit Xhaka's cross.

Few minutes later, Ben Chilwell was presented with an opportunity to get Chelsea back into the game but his effort was well saved by Aaron Ramsdale.

Xhaka turned provider again for Odegaard in the 31st minute with another pin point cross which the Norwegian midfielder dispatched with aplomb after Chelsea defenders were caught napping.

Three minutes later, Gabriel Jesus scored the third goal following a scrambled finish.

Chelsea struggled to create anything of note in a shambolic first half.

Noni Madueke reduced the deficit with his first goal for Chelsea in the 65th minute.

Kepa Arrizabalaga kept the scoreline respectable with some decent saves as Arsenal ended their four matches winless streak.

The defeat was Chelsea sixth consecutive loss under  interim manger Frank Lampard.

The win helped the Gunners to return to the top of the Premier League log, with two points clear of Manchester City, who have two games in hand.

Up next for Arsenal is a crunch clash against Newcastle on Sunday, while Chelsea take on Bournemouth a day before.
