Nigeria’s Queen Of The Track, Tobi Amusan Shines At Racers Grand Prix

By Taiwo Ibrahim

Nigeria's Queen of the track, Tobi Amusan was in her best element after racing to a season's best of 12.57s (-0.4) to win the Women's 100m Hurdles event at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica, Sportivationng.com reports.

Amusan finished above Tia Jones, who polled 12.72s, while Jamaican Megan Tapper finished third with 12.80s on Saturday.

Amusan had a poor start to the season after losing to Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, who polled a world leading time of 12.31s to win the women’s 100m Hurdles at the LA Gran Prix.

The 26-year-old produced a stunning performance in 2022 at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.

She is the current World, Commonwealth and African champion in the 100 m hurdles, as well as the meet record holder in those three competitions.

The Ogun State-born Athlete won back-to-back Commonwealth and African titles in 2018 and 2022 in the 100 m hurdles.
