As part of its ongoing sports and education empowerment initiatives, the widely applauded Spires and IHS community outreach made a stop
at the Majidun Senior Grammar school in Ikorodu on Wednesday.
The outreach aimed at sensitizing pupils on the gains of education and sports is also geared at preparing the young people for a productive career part beyond their secondary and tertiary education.
It was a feeling of excitement for over 500 pupils of the Majidun Senior Grammar School as they were impacted by the resource persons who took turns to speak on diverse career lessons and opportunities.
The school principal, Mr. Babatunde Fajebe Onasanya commended spires and IHS for the initiative as he called for more of such engagement to empower the younger generation.
In his words: “We are happy to have Spires and IHS team in our school today, our pupils had a great experience and we look forward to more of such support in the nearest future.” Babatunde said.
The Ikorodu Divisional Football Association (DFA) Chairman Alh. Lukman Sonibare, who was in attendance, described the initiative as a perfect way to encourage young people to combine education and sports.
On his part, the project Director Olusola Robert said the initiative has been largely successful, and they hope to build on it ahead of visit to other schools.
“Firstly, i wish to appreciate IHS for this outstanding collaboration with Spires Media. This commitment has helped us provide several educational and sports materials to the schools, and we hope to do more. Robert added.
The Spires and IHS community outreach will move to Army Children High School in Epe on Friday, 2nd October.
